Lester J. Fenn died at his home in Livingston early Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 and services were held Monday, Jan. 26, 2004. He was 85 years old. Born March 16, 1918, Lester was one of seven children born in Leesburg, Texas, to Miller and Anne Fenn. The Fenn family has traced their ancestry back to 1598 through Connecticut and into England. In 1945, Lester met and married Carolyn June Alford in Houston, where they lived until moving to Lufkin in 1971. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Fenn was a printer for the American Can Company until his retirement in 1971.

Survivors: wife of 58 years, Carolyn June (Alford) Fenn; two sons: Gary L. Fenn and wife Judy of Stevens Point, Wisc.; Greg A. Fenn and his wife Cindy of Livingston; grandsons, David G. Fenn and wife Jill of Dallas; Austin M. Fenn and wife Tara of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Stephen L. Fenn and wife Chandra of Madison, Wisc.; and his beloved granddaughter Amanda Fenn of Houston; and one great-grandson, Ian S. Fann of Dallas; sister, Ella Parsons of Longview and many nephews and nieces.

His family and the many individual whose lives he touched through the years will miss Lester, an man of integrity, as well as a man of faith and conviction.
