FRED NORBERG TAKEN BY DEATH
Fred Norberg, 63, died here Thursday night after a lingering illness. A former coal miner, he had lived in Chariton for 35 years.
Final rites were Sunday at the Miley Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Frank Carlson, pastor of the Lutheran church. Burial was in Chariton cemetery.
Mr. Norberg was born at Beacon, Iowa, Sept. 14, 1889, and lived in Hitemen before coming to Chariton. He married the former Ann Jeffreys of Hiteman at Albia in 1910.
Mrs. Norberg survives. He also is survived by four children, Richard Norberg of Chariton, Mrs. Wayne Collinson of Springfield, Mo., Fredrik Norberg of Saudi Arabia and Donald Norberg of Albia; two brothers, Arthur Norberg of Chariton and Oscar Norberg of Moline, Ill., and seven grandchildren.
