Norman Selmer Williamson, Sr. was born September 27, 1929 to Elling and Emma (Samson) Williamson in Wannaska, MN. He attended Edberg country school in Wannaska. After school he worked on the family farm and helped care for his mother. From there he went to work at Jackson Ford in Roseau. During this time he married his wife Jean (Kaml) July 3, 1958. He went to work at Boones Farm in Grafton, ND for awhile and then moved his family back to Roseau County where he went to work at Polaris Industries until he retired in 1992.

Norman passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Roseau Area Hospital.

One of Norman's favorite things to do every spring was to look for the first marsh marigolds and picked them for Jean. Norman had a great love for children and would go out of his way to see them. He would leave right in the middle of a conversation to go and talk with the children.

He loved horses and had a great passion for them right up to the end. Norman liked to hunt deer and was an excellent shot, especially with his six shooter.

He has resided at the Greenbush Nursing Home for the past 8 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean; seven siblings and a son, Luke.

Survivors include his sisters, Ester Olson of Roseau; Selma Olson of Grand Junction, CO; his children, Jack (Vicky) Williamson of Blackduck, MN; Norma (Don) Van DeHey of Badger, MN; Everett (Troya) Williamson of Anchorage, AK; Elling Williamson of Badger, MN; Jerome (Lynette) Williamson of Waverly, MN; Cathy (Todd) Warrick of St. Cloud, MN and Norman Williamson, Jr. of Grygla, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Shelly), Laura (Patrick), Tony, Jennifer (Doug), Justin, Jessie, Emma, Andrew, Samantha, Cole, Sean, Evan, Tylar, and his great-grandchildren, Luke, Ryan, Jordan and Max.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at Helgeson Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be in the Badger City Cemetery.
