Canonsburg Herald, Canonsburg PA, Friday 09 December 1887 - Sudden Death - On Saturday last, LIZZIE, wife of FINLEY BROWN, died very suddenly of what is supposed to have been disease of the heart. She had been ill, having a babe ten days old. She felt well and cheerful and desired to sit up and be dressed. Mrs. Gabriel McDonald, a neighbor and Mrs. Warfield, the nurse, assisted her to dress as she sat upon the side of the bed. She rose to her feet, but at once sat down remarking that she felt very queer. In a moment she clasped her hand to her heart, exclaiming, "Oh! My heart," an fell back. Mrs. McDonald bathed her head with camphor and asked what she could do for her. She replied, nothing, and at once expired. Her death took place about 10 a.m. Mr. Brown was absent at Pittsburgh, and knew nothing of the sad occurrence until his return at 4 p.m. when he was met at the station by his brother, HENRY. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Brown was 28 years old, and left two children one about two years old and the other a babe of ten days.
