Dan W. Schaffer and C. C. Blue were brought to Tulsa Thursday, two impressive funeral ceremonies held yesterday afternoon at Rose Hill cemetery marking the last sad rites honoring those members of the fraternity who went down to their death in the discharge of their duties. Mr. Schaffer is survived by a wife, a daughter, Mrs. Loveless of Delaware, Okla. and two sons, Boyd, 17, and Herbert, age 20. They make their home here at 909 South Detroit. Wonderfully impressive Rose Croix ceremonies were held at midnight Thursday at Masonic lodge. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. C. C. Blue is survived by a wife, his parents, who live at Bowden, Okla., where his father is connected with the Gypsy Oil Company, having had charge of their leases there the past seven years, and two sisters. A sad incident in connection with Mr. Blue's death is the fact that his mother is now lying at the point of death at the family home at Bowden, having suffered a stroke of neuritis recently.
____________
He died in an automobile accident during a heavy storm. He worked for Pure Oil Co. "Traveling south over the muddy roads in a Buick roadster with the curtains buttoned tight, the auto tracks show that the car skidded probably while going at a high rate of speed, and the outside wheels missed the stone embankment at the side of the bridge. The force of the speed carried the car to the center of the bridge, where two stones crumbled out from the embankment, tipping the car into the creek."
