Services for Howard Sutterfield, 73, Wilder, who died Tuesday, Aug. 27, at home, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Golden Gate Baptist Church, Wilder.
The Rev. Ramero Reyes of Wilder will officiate. Interment , will follow at the Wilder Cemetery, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
Mr. Sutterfield was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Harriet, Ark., where he was reared and educated. He farmed there for several years.
He married Johnnie Rae Kyle on Oct. 27, 1935. He farmed for a few years then was employed in the timber industry both in saw mills and in the forest. They moved to the Sunny Slope area near Caldwell in 1955. He worked as a foreman at the Symms Fruit Ranch until he retired due to illness in 1962.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener the past few years.
He is survived by his wife of Wilder; a son, Willie Sutterfield of Columbia City, Ore.; three daughters, Betty Chisamore of Portland, Ore., Kay Werre of Caldwell and Mary Griffith of Wilder; one brother, Fred Sutterfield of Russellville, Ark.; and two sisters, Bessie Tackett of Pampa, Texas and Mary Ellen Hinkle of Marshall, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, four sisters and one grandchild.
