Jack D. McCune was a Tank Commander attached to Company Headquarters of the 31st Tank Battalion, 7th Armored Division, U.S. Army. He participated in Operation Market Garden (17-25 Sep 1944) and was killed soon after in Deurne, Holland (Netherlands) during a Nazi counter attack, in what is called 'The Battle of the Canals'.
