Anna Holmes Morrison was the daughter of John and Lydia Register Holmes of Roane County, Tennessee. She married James Barnard Morrison on January 25, 1849 in Roane County, Tennessee. They had seven children:

Mary Ann Morrison married Azor Cowhon Osburn
Deborah Jane Morrison married William Avon Vaughn
James Register Morrison married Sarah Jane Helm
Jefferson Davis Morrison married Emma Jane King
Francis Marion Morrison married Cordelia Certina Mullins
Anna Morrison and all of her children, except Sarah Morrison Edgmon, left Roane Co, TN, in a wagon train October 8, 1882, and settle in Fulton County, Arkansas, south of Bakersfield, Missouri. Other families in the wagon train were the Henry Smiths, the Caldwells, the Thomas Neills and the Richard Thomas (George) Price family.
