Arlie V. Rochholz, 94, of Merlin died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Autumn House.
A private family gathering will be held. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Calif. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 13, 1912, in Tipton, Iowa, to Harry and Meta Rochholz. He was raised in Iowa, where he attended school. He joined the Army Air Forces and served during World War II. On Dec. 18, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa, he married Pearl Christensen, who died June 23, 1967.
He moved to Culver City, Calif., where he worked as a maitre d' and waiter at high-end restaurants in Hollywood Hills. After retiring in 1976, he returned to Clinton, Iowa. In 1990, he moved to Merlin to be near his sons.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Merlin, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks in both Iowa and Grants Pass. He enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Survivors include three sons, Brad Rochholz of Grants Pass, and Denis and Steven Rochholz, both of Merlin; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
