ARTHUR EUGENE BOOR

Arthur Eugene Boor, one of seven children of Harry O. and Iva Boor, was born July 19, in Franklin Township in Clarke County, and died July 24, 1993, at Northern Wake Hospital in Wake Forest, N. C.

He was 81.

He was married Dec. 24, 1934, to Alice Switzer and they were the parents of two children, Wayne Arthur and Janice Marie. The couple made their home in Weldon and Murray.

A farmer in Clarke and Decatur Counties, Mr. Boor enjoyed his days working on the farm. Farming was his life and he was a living part of the family farming operation. He not only loved the land but was an educator to his family, teaching them it is not how much you have but how you take care of it.

He liked gardens, flowers and cooking. He strived to Always be a part of his families' lives. He would travel any distance to spend time with his loved ones and share his wit and wisdom through simple conversation.

Mr. Boor had lived in Osceola since 1962.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ross, Forest and Glenn and a sister in infancy.

Surviving Mr. Boor are his children, Wayne Arthur Boor and his wife, Donna, of Murray and Janice Marie Boor Ward currently of Wake Forest; six grandchildren, Chris Boor and his wife, Sheila, of Osceola, Marlan Boor of Osceola, Lori Ann Boor Rice and her husband, Brad, of Murray, Stacy Diane Boor of Murray, Kendall Ray Ward and his wife, Lisa, of Youngsville, N. C. and Kimberly Marie Ward Burson and her husband, James of Upper St. Clair, Pa.; and five great grandchildren, Kayla and Maggie Rice of Murray, Mitchell Ray and Jackson Arthur Ward of Youngsville and Kevin Burson of Upper St. Clair.

Services fro Mr. Boor were at 2 p.m. Monday at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Walt Williams of Osceola officiating. Organist Pennie Gonseth accompanied soloist Richard Boor as performed Precious Memories, Jesus Lord To Me and Mansion Over the Hilltop.

Casket bearers were Merle Klein, Donald DeVore, Gerald Bethards, Darrell Flaherty, Steve Moran and Chuck Taylor. Honorary bearers were Maurice Boor, Robert Boor, Donovan Vaughn, Gerald Boor, Richard Boor and Ed Flaherty. Interment was in the Woodburn Cemetery

Memorials may be made to the Clarke County Cancer Society.
