Eugene and Elsie were both killed in a head on car crash close to Amarillo, TX in Sept. of 1959. They had no children. Elsie was a School Teacher and worked on an Indian Reservation most of her career. Eugene was a Church of Christ Preacher.

NEW MEXICO RITES FOR 3 CRASH VICTIMS
Triple funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Logan Church of Christ, Logan, NM, for three persons killed in a head on collision near Amarillo Saturday morning.
Rites will be held for Mrs. Elsie Green Dement, 48, former Abilenian; her husband, Eugene Dement, 44; and his father, Chester L. Dement, 69, of San Jon, NM.
Mrs. Sam James, 64, of Amarillo, also died in the crash.
Mrs. Dement died at 10:10 p.m. Monday in an Amarillo hospital after receiving multiple injuries about the head. Mrs. James' husband, 66, received multiple fractures in the crash.
Mrs. Dement was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Green, 909 Hickory St., Abilene. Her father was official U.S. Weather Bureau forecaster here for many years. He is now retired. Mrs. Dement was a Roswell, NM school teacher.
Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Harley Bateman of Abilene, and Mrs. Russell Mozeney of Corpus Christi; and four brothers, J. W. Green of Abilene, Paul Green of Sweetwater, Howard Green of Cleburne and Berton Green of Concordia, KS.
