Anna Rose Atkins, 91, of Lebanon passed away Tuesday at Twin Oaks of Sweet Home.
Anna was born near Prosser, Wash., the daughter of Alvin and Vera (Storment) Ogden. As a child, she lived in many communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. She live on Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Wash., from 1940 until 1960. She lived in Eugene and Brownsville for many years, and she has lived in Lebanon for the past 16 years.
Anna was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and attended in Albany, Lebanon and Sweet Home. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed volunteering as a caregiver in the community of Oak Harbor for many years.
Anna married Ben Heller in 1940. From this union was born three children, Donald, Dorothea and Roberta. The couple later divorced. She married Gordon Stoddard in the early 1960s. He preceded her in death in 1996. In 1997 she married Francis Atkins, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Anna was preceded in death by daughters Roberta and Dorothea, brother Harold and sister Irene.
She is survived by a son, Don and his wife Lynne Heller of Brownsville; brother Ray Ogden of Dallas; sisters Bernice Chaffee of Lebanon, Helen Irish of Grand View, Wash., Hazel Smith of Livermore, Calif., and Esther Thompson of Cheney, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing was Sunday, March 6, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Funeral was held Monday, March 7, at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. A private interment was in the Fir Grove Cemetery near Cottage Grove.
