Sophie B. Weninger, 89, of 946 Milwaukee St., Lomira, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 30, 1907, in St. Kilian, a daughter of Frank and Mary Schweitzer Melzer. On June 14, 1927, she married John Weninger at St. Kilian Catholic Church.

Mrs. Weninger was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira.

Survivors include one son, Lloyd and his wife Arline of Brownsville; one daughter, Marian Schmitt and her husband James of Fond du Lac; 11 grandchildren, Jane Bishop and her husband Michael of Kohler, Julie Bintzler and her husband James of Fairfax, Va., Joan Schmitt of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Rose Metke and her husband Ron of Brownsville, Kathryn Dalle Nogare and her husband Gerald of Oakfield, James Weninger and his wife Lisa of Buffalo, Minn., Joseph Weninger and his wife Bonnie of Lomira; Jerald Weninger and his wife Holly of West Bend, Lisa Soboleski and her husband Andrew of Brownsville; Michael Weninger and his fiancée Jill Benson of Westby and Linda Weninger of Brownsville; 12 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband on April 9, 1954, and one brother, Joseph Melzer.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira. The Rev. Vincent Holubowicz and the Rev. Robert Fictum will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.

Visitation: From 9 a.m. Friday to the time of services at the church.

Kietzer Funeral Home of Lomira is handling arrangements.
