Marriage to Col. Frank Hampton - ‎12 December 1855 ‎(Age 22)‎ New York, USA

************************************************************

Mrs. FRANK HAMPTON, wife of Col. Hampton, Confederate States Army, and daughter of George Baxter, Esquire, of New York, has ceased to live! Her thirtieth year had not closed, when all that was mortal of this noble woman was summoned to put on immortality.

The flower had bloomed and withered when its fragrance was sweetest. The devoted partner has been taken away, when the "light of her countenance" seemed to be the most wanted, and infancy weeps, in all its helplessness for "one" whose name was "mother" in its holiest name.

But go, my friend, to the bosom of they God! I will not offer you "the pageantry of praise." A merciful Spirit has witnessed your trials, your sufferings, your virtues, and your departure. And the Recording Angel has written down your inheritance in Heaven. AMICUS.

NOTE: Virginia papers are requested to copy.

Obituary from the Tuesday, September 16, 1862 edition of the newspaper: 'Charleston Mercury' (Charleston, SC)
