Barbara A. Blackmore, 57, Kings, passed away on Friday March 4, 2011 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford after a sudden illness.
She was born in Chicago, on Feb. 20, 1954, the daughter of John and Mary (Pullen) Miller.
She married Walter Blackmore on Jan. 17, 2004 in Rochelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband, Eddie Gray. Barb managed the Clark Gas Station and also worked for Eaton for many years. She recently had been working for Walmart in DeKalb.
She spent her free time going bowling with the girls and participating in bowling tournaments. She also loved spending time with her dogs, which she used to show.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Walter Blackmore of Kings; one sister, Charlotte Watkins of California; stepchildren, Lori (Eric) Johanning of Rochelle, Lisa (Bobbie) Noble of Paw Paw and Lynn (Rebecca) Blackmore of Austin, Texas. She had nine step-grandchildren, Shawn (Shannon) Johanning, David (Jodi) Johanning, Kix and Sam Johanning, Jeff Noble, Stephanie (AJ) Gonzalez, Robert (Amanda) Blackmore, Michael, and Isaac Blackmore; eight great-grandchildren, Kyle and Natalie Johanning, Ean Johanning, Mahala and Hannah Gonzalez, Sonny, Brianna and Kristen Blackmore; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Monday, March 7 at 11 a.m. with pastor Steve Dow officiating.
A visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home with a Ladies of the Moose Ritual Service at 4 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Blackmore family.
