Born October 9, 1918, in Oak Ridge, PA, Mike lived a very full and happy life. Additionally he was wounded by the enemy in December 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Mike met his wife Dorothy while in Bath, England, where they were married. She was a war bride who waited out two years of the war to travel to America and Mike via the original Queen Mary. They were married for a blissful 57 years. An avid outdoorsman, he was most happy hunting in the woods or fishing on the river. His garden and flowers were his pride, particularly his rose trellis. Family and grandchildren were the light of his life, as well as his faithful dog, Benny.
