Jack Warren Earnhart died February 8, 2011 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was 87. Jack was born in 1923 to Harry and Ruth (Benson) Earnhart in Sterling, Colorado and resided there most of his life.

After graduating from Sterling High School in 1941, he attended the University of Denver until entering military service in 1943. He served in the 89th Infantry Division and saw action in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns in WWII. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to the University of Denver completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics.

From 1948 through 1949, Jack was employed by Albert Gebauer, CPA. In 1950 to 1951, he opened a flower shop in Sterling called Blossom Lane.
He was then recalled to active duty in May of 1951 and served until October of 1952 during the Korean War. Jack then returned to Greeley, Colorado and was employed by the public accounting firm of Albert R. Miller, CPA.

In 1954, he began his certified public accounting firm in Sterling, which continues today as Earnhart & Associates, Inc. CPA's. He was proud to have served his community for over fifty years.

Jack served on many boards and committees during his career, these included: a 2-year term as member of the Regional Ethics and Trial Board for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; 25 years as a member of the Logan County Hospital Board; 12 years on the Board
of the Colorado National Bank of Sterling; past president of the Northeast Colorado Chapter of Certified Public Accountants; and was a member of the Sterling Lions Club, Sterling Elks Club and Sterling Country Club for many years. Jack was also a long-time member of the Christ

Jack loved his family, golfing with his friends, sports cars, and dogs, especially his devoted pal Beau. He had a great sense of humor, and loved travelling with his wife. A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2 pm at the MacKenzie Place in Fort Collins, Colorado where the couple has resided for the last three years. Final interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Because Jack never met a dog he didn't love; in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Larimer County Humane Society, 6317 Kyle Ave., Fort
Collins, Colorado 80525 – 970-226-3647. Memories of Jack can be sent to: Bonnie Earnhart at 4750 Pleasant Oak Drive #108, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525.
