Ebbie was the first child of Eugene and Dorothy Sheffield. Dorothy had him prematurely and the baby was stillborn. Dorothy was pregnant and was jumping a creek when she started into labor. The baby came right there and did not live. Dorothy was told that she should have a hysterectomy. She refused and told the dr. that she was going to have a baby. She did just that. She had Zelma Idlee on Nov. 18, 1922.
