Mr. Douzat, age 72, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2010, at his residence. He was a native of Alexandria. He worked for Dresser Industries for 17 years, and later owned and operated Southern Machine Shop. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He was an avid fisherman. He was a charter member of Bayou Bass Masters. He also coached Ward 10 Girls softball for eight years.
He is survived by his former wife, Mourine Watkins Douzat; one daughter, Debra Holt, of Tioga; three brothers, Jerry Douzat of Zachary, Louisiana, Thomas Douzat of Baton Rouge, and Billy Douzat of Gonzales, Louisiana; two sisters, Shirley Robichaux of Alexandria and Nelda Folsom of Georgia. He is also survived by one grandchild, Samantha Holt of Tioga.
