Funeral Mass for Mr. Donald Joseph Douzat, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Rita Catholic Church, Alexandria, with Reverend Adam Travis officiating. Interment will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana.

Mr. Douzat, age 72, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2010, at his residence. He was a native of Alexandria. He worked for Dresser Industries for 17 years, and later owned and operated Southern Machine Shop. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He was an avid fisherman. He was a charter member of Bayou Bass Masters. He also coached Ward 10 Girls softball for eight years.

He is survived by his former wife, Mourine Watkins Douzat; one daughter, Debra Holt, of Tioga; three brothers, Jerry Douzat of Zachary, Louisiana, Thomas Douzat of Baton Rouge, and Billy Douzat of Gonzales, Louisiana; two sisters, Shirley Robichaux of Alexandria and Nelda Folsom of Georgia. He is also survived by one grandchild, Samantha Holt of Tioga.
