Frank H. "Babe" Adams, 89, of Salem, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Adams. Babe was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy M. Adams. Mr. Adams was a lifelong member of Penn Forest Wesleyan Church. He also served proudly with the United States Army Air Corps, during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Adams; son, Rodger Turner; daughter-in-law, Pam Turner; grandson, Marc Alan Turner and fiancee, Megan Trevillian; granddaughter, Sara Kristine Turner; and brother, Henry Adams, of Salem. Also surviving is his sister, Helen Choplin, of North Carolina. Survivors also include sisters-in-law, Lottie Turner and Betty B. Turner, of Salem; brother-in-law, Oscar Turner and wife, Barbara, of Rocky Mount; as well as numerous beloved special nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Blackford E. Nolan Jr. of Lewis Gale and the VA Hospital for their care and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Penn Forest Wesleyan Church, 540-772-9482, or a charity of your choice in his name. A service celebrating Mr. Adams life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Simpson Funeral Home with the Rev. Myron Atkins and the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Monday, March 7, 2011, at Simpson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 540-366-0707.
