Clarence Reed, 84, died at the Urbana Care Center at 7 30 am. Sunday. He had been in failing health for six years.

Born in Union County, May 9, 1889, he was the son of Ross and Flora Decker. He had lived in Champaign County most of his life.

On Feb. 21, 1914, he married Ruth Evilsizor who preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1970.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin, Urbana, and Russell and Harold, both of St Paris; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Glenna) Wiltheiss, Valley City, 19 grandchildren and 17 great - grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother, Lester Reed, Fountain Park Rest Home and a half - brother, Chester Darling.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Baker Funeral Home, St Paris. The Rev. Marvin Dawson will officiate and burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until the time of services.
