Mrs. T.J. Pierce, 76, a resident of the Walnut Creek community for more than half a century, died at the family home Monday night. She had been an invalid for several years
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Smith cemetery in the Walnut Creek community. Rev. D.R. Cartlidge, pastor of the West Athens Baptist church was named to conduct the services.
Mrs. Pierce, the former Miss Sarah Willis, was a native of Mississippi, but had spent most of her life in Texas, the family having settled in Henderson county in the eighties. She was a staunch member of the Christian church.
Those surviving include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Leopard, Turkey Creek; four sons, Jim Pierce, Trinidad; Henry Pierce, Walnut Creek; Joe Pierce, Kilgore and John Pierce, Stockard community. Two brothers, Joe Willis of Lamesa, Texas and Steve Willis of Fort Worth also survive.
Burial service was in charge of Carroll-Lehr.
