David Giesler, the oldest son of John, probably born in Tennessee, was married here to Sarah, daughter of John Bowman, and died before his father ( dates unknown). He was the parent of three children living to maturity, of whom two, Mary, wife of Jacob H. West, and Carey L., wife of Jerry Jones, are dead; their descendants are listed in the Bowman and Jones chapters. The third child, Edward Lee Giesler, married Mollie Mitchem and lives near Pea Vine Creek in the northeastern part of the county. After the death of David Giesler his widow married ‘Kiah" Joyce, and was the mother of four children by her second marriage: John who lately died; Hiram in California; Belle, wife of Jack Campbell; and Victoria, wife of Robert Moreland.
