"Fred Pinkerton, who would have been 82 on Friday, was born Aug. 29, 1876 in Weston, the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Pinkerton, passed away quite suddenly at his home Monday morning, Aug. 25. He had spent his entire life in the Athena-Weston communities

Mr. Pinkerton was married to Belle Davison of Weston on October 31, 1901, in Pendleton, and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary seven years ago. They were the parents of three children, John of Indianapolis Ind., Dean, Athena, and Mrs. Paul (Edna) Lieuallen, Adams.

For 33 years Pinkerton made his home in Weston, moving to Athena in 1909 where his family has since lived. He was employed by Preston-Shaffer Milling Co., before becoming a custodian of the Athena school. He served in that capacity for 37 years and upon retirement was honored by a community party. He was affectionately called Dado by his family and by many friends, including many who he attended school with while he was a custodian. He was a fishing enthusiast, according to his friends..."
