PONTIAC -- Henry W. Koerner, 74, of 302 Pierce St. died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 1957, at St. James Hospital. He had been ill a year and seriously ill four months. He was taken to the Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dale Pitcher officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. The family has requested the expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to charities of the donor's choice.
Visitation will begin at 2p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born March 13, 1883 near Cullom, a son of Chrisitan and Margaret Michael Koerner. He married Alice M. Vercler Dec. 17, 1907 in Pike Township.
He was secretary-treasurer of the Farmers Telephone Co. 22 years, a member of a rural school board 18 years, and a county school trustee. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Pontiac 48 years, of the official church board 40 years, and of the church choir 22 years.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth McCabe, Pontiac; a son Merle, Pontiac; a brother, Christian, Weston; three grandchildren. Five sisters and two brothers prceded him in death.
