Flack
Mrs. Sylvia A. Flack, widow of Josiah Flack, died on last Friday at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her son, A.L. Flack, on Monroe Street. About five years ago the deceased had a serious fall, since when her health has gradually declined. Three months ago she was stricken with paralysis and this was the immediate cause of her death. When stricken she was at the home of her son, Eli, at Waterloo, Ind., but she recovered sufficiently to be removed to this city nine weeks ago. Mrs. Flack was born in Fairfield county, July 8, 1827. She was the daughter of Samuel L. Dailey. In 1830 the family removed to Tiffin, where her father established a tannery on the present site of the First ward engine house. He will be recalled by old residents as one of the pioneer settlers in what was then a struggling village. On March 12, 1843, she was united in marriage to Josiah Flack, the greater part of their happy wedded life was spent in this city, a few years during which they resided in Adrian excepted. He died April 3, 1892, since when Mrs. Flack has resided with her son, Albert L., where she died. She was aged, at the time of her death 77 years, 3 months and 13 days. Five sons survive to mourn her death: Albert L., of Tiffin; William R., of Toledo; Eli G., of Waterloo, Ind.; Rev. Gerial K., of Chicago, Ill.; and George L., of Tiffin. Two daughters are deceased.
Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of A.L. Flack, services conducted by Rev. R.L. Waggoner; Interment in Greenlawn cemetery.
