Ralph L. Kirchen Sr.
Services for Ralph L. Kirchen Sr., 78, of 995 Mayfair Court, will be at 10am Sunday at Columbkille's Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Wednesday at the Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where the rosary will be said at 7pm.
Mr. Kirchen, who was born in Cascade, Iowa, died at 9:30am Monday, Aug. 4, 1986 at Manor Care Nursing Center.
He was a chef at a number of nights clubs in the Dubuque area and later operated the Swiss Valley Chalet. Most recently he was chef at St. Joseph's Unit of Mercy Health Center until he retired in 1974. He was a member of the St. Columbkille's Parish, Senior Citizen's Club, and an RSVP volunteer.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Heller; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Janet) McQuillin of Dubuque; a son, Ralph L. Jr., of Dubuque; six grandchildren; and a brother, Rev. Paul B. of Helena, Mont.
