Son of James and Ruth Akes.∼Gerald Duane Akes, infant son of Mr. And Mrs. James Akes, was born in Decatur Iowa, June 24, 1922 and died at the home of his Grandparents, Mr and Mrs Harvey Akes Sunday, April 8, 1923 aged nine months and sixteen days. Funeral services were held Monday at the home, conducted by Rev. Elba Dale and the little boy was laid to rest in the Palestine cemetery west of Leon. The bereaved parents and relatives have the sympathy of the community in their great loss.
