Obituary: Dodgeville Chronicle
Mrs. Mary Ann Roberts died at her home, March 29th. Mrs. Roberts was born in England in 1809 and was united with John Roberts in 1842. They came to America in 1849 and stopped at Mineral Point where they remained six months then moved to Lost Grove, stopping there for three years, then to a farm at Laxey where they resided until death. Her husband worked in the Brook mine and was killed by a rock falling on him in 1852. Mrs. Roberts having remained a widow ever since and was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor. She was laid to rest last Sunday, March 31st in the Laxey Cemetery by the side of her husband, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. W. D. James, assisted by R. Vial.
