Mrs Warfield attended Dickson Hopewell Elementary School and Williams High School. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Dickson Hopewell Baptist Church. She later united with Wheeler Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She met and married R L Warfield, and to this union they shared seven children; four daughters and three sons.
For more than four decades, she served as a devoted and dedicated member, Church Clerk, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and a faithful worker in the community. Mrs Warfield was a member of the Court Order of Calanthe of Texas-Pearl Chapter Court No 96 for 50 years and also was a member of the Eastern Star of Texas-Solid Friendship Chapter No 94.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend departed from this earth for another land, to a city which hath foundations whose builder and maker of God. She enjoyed cooking (for anybody that came to her home and carrying food out to the community), canning fruits and vegetables, gardening and quilting.
Survivors include her five children Charlie Frank Warfield (Mary), Bobbie Benton, Geneva Shepherd (Herman), Bettye Glen (Rickey) and James Warfield; one sister, Robbie Nell Roberts; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-great-grandchildren; special nephew Ben Mask (Janice); special nieces Lela Victor and Myrtle; very special grandaughter Jacqueline Benton-Arthur (Winifred "WT"); and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Chester and Willie Fobbs; husband RL Warfield; son Willie "Lewis" Warfield; daughter Raye "Katherine" Edgley; three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs Minnie Rutine Fobbs Warfield will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Wheeler Springs Missonary Baptist Church at 12:00 noon.
