Jacob Grant Young, 84, retired farmer, died in his home here at 7:10 a.m. Monday, after an illness of one year. Born in Hardin County, Kentucky, he was married there on February 23, 1893 and moved to the Brookston community in 1914. He and his wife, the former Isola Hart, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last February. He was retired for 10 years and was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors besides the widow are three sons, Hanson, Fowler Rt. 4, and Hubert and James , Brookston, three daughters, Mrs. May Spencer, Mrs. Carrie Cain, and Mrs. Sallie Young, Lafayette, and a sister, Mrs. Rhea Morrison, Stephensburg, KY.

Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home, Brookston, after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Services in Brookston Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Earl Heimburger, Lafayette, and Rev. Charles Kern, Brrokston, officiating. Burial in Brookston IOOF cemetery. Survivors include 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
