Fountain City - Lillian R Chant, 87, former Fountain City resident, died Friday afternoon at Jenkins Hall in Richmond after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Allen County, and had lived in Fountain City since 1969, until she became a resident of Jenkins Hall four years ago. She was a retired Friends minister, having served at the Greenfield Friends Meeting, the Penn Friends Meeting, Penn, Mich., and Ludlow Falls Friends Meeting in Ludlow Falls, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College and a member of the Fountain City Friends Meeting and the United Society of Friends Women. Her husband, the Rev Franklin Chant, died in
1959.
Survivors include one daughter, Miriam Sheard of Richmond; one sister, Rose Bauman of Leo; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
