Martha Jane Pugh was born in Huntington county, Indiana, July 7, 1865, and departed this life Dec. 24, 1903, aged 38 years, 5 months and 17 days. She was united in marriage to William Hardin Feb. 10, 1883. To this union three sons were born. They are all still living. She was married a second time to Wesley Cole. She was a devout member of the M.E. church, and died a believer in that faith. Jennie, as she was called, was a good, kind hearted woman. She leaves a husband, three sons an aged mother, one brother, two sisters and a large circle of friends to mourn her death.
May her dear soul rest in peace, and may we some day clasp her beloved hand upon the other shore, is our prayer.
Funeral was held at the Greenwood church at 11 o'clock Saturday, the 26th, by Rev. Barrett. Text, "O Grave, where is thy sting?"
Her sister, Mrs. Sam Lee.

William W. Cole and Jennie Fisher (Jennie Pugh) were married by Squire John Monday evening.

Records show her father was Abraham Pugh and her mother was Mary C. Hummel.
