Janiece M. Byrne, 80, lifelong Rushville resident, passed away 3AM Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor.

Berniece was born April 24, 1930 in Rushville, IN to Lester and Zelma (Wolfe) Malson. Janiece married Tony Byrne Oct. 12, 1951 and he preceded her in death April 26, 2003.

Janiece formerly owned and operated the Byrne's Grocery Store on 8th Street for 30 years. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church where she had been very active. She had also been a member of the Rushville Sr. Center and very active in the BPW. She was a volunteer at Rush Memorial Hospital and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a RHS graduate in the Class of 1948.

Janiece leaves behind one son, John M. Byrne (and wife, Mary) of Rushville, IN and one brother, Alllan Malson of New Castle,IN. She also leaves behind three grandchildren , Alex and Sydney Byrne and Kathleen Kuebler.

She is preceeded by one daughter preceded in death, Sherry Kuebler (1995).

Services are pending. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery,

Following serivces. Memorial contributions may be made to RMH Foudation and /or St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Moster Mortuary.
