Caroline's parents were disinterred from their original burial location and taken to Elk View Cemetery in Clarksburg, West Virginia to be buried next to Caroline's brother Virginius Chapin.
The following excerpt is from the will of Virginius Chapin, son of Phineas and Nancy Chapin: "...I further will and request that I, and the remains of my father, my mother and my deceased sister Lizzie, be interred in my lot in the Masonic Cemetery near Clarksburg."
