Mr. Wallace Coolidge Angel, 86 of King, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at Village Care of King. Mr. Angel was born in Surry County, February 25, 1925 to Jesse Thomas and Ethel Inez Sumner Angel. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Angel was retired from the construction business and was also a real estate broker. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Pleasants Angel of King; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Cindy Angel of Raleigh; Greg and Kandy Angel of Brentwood, TN; a granddaughter, Emily Austin Angel; sisters, Pauline Matthews and Mary Ruth Angel both of Pilot Mountain; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Douglas and Judy Angel of Mt. Airy and Selma Angel of Pilot Mountain. In addition to his parents, Mr. Angel was preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Draughn Angel; a sister, Georgia Bunn and brothers, Jay Angel and Edward Angel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at First Baptist Church of King by Rev. Ken Evans and Rev. Steve Dowd. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stokes County, 3169 NC 8, Hwy, Suite 204, Walnut Cove 27052. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the exceptional staff of Priddy Manor, Village Care of King and to Dr. Samuel Newsome for the wonderful care given to Mr. Angel.
