A. H. (Harry) Von Seggern, 61 died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in the reception room of his family physician's office while waiting for a consultation. In ill health two years, death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. The family resides at 1403 Franklin street.
A native of Lafayette and a lifelong resident of the city Mr. Von Seggern was employed 35 years by the Ruger bakery until 1947 when he purchased the Mitchell cafe and service station on the 52 by-pass at Union street; he retired from the latter business last year because of ill health. He was a member of the Elks lodge. In 1911 he was married to Anna E. Roth.
Surviving are the widow, three children Harry J, Glen and Mrs. Gil Hutton all of this city, and three sisters Mrs. Hugo Koch and Mrs. George J. Johnson of this city and Mrs. Frank Stephens, Mendota, IL. A son T. Sgt. Dale A Von Seggern a member of the Air force was killed in Germany in 1943 during World War II and lies buried in Holland.
