Mrs. Anna Knoll
Fairbury - (PNS) -- Mrs. Anna Catherine Knoll, 86, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Fairbury Hospital. She was a patient there 24 days.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cook Funeral Home, with the Rev. William C. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Sibley. Visitation will begin Friday night at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1871, near Cullom, a daughter of Adam and Louisa Koerner Steinberg, She was married to William C. Knoll in 1915. They lived on a farm near Gibson City and moved to Fairbury in 1941.

Surviving are a brother, Charles, Fairbury; four nephews, six nieces and six grand nephews and nieces. Her husband preceded her in death."

The eldest of five of J. Adam & Louisa Koerner Steinberg, Anna married, divorced, returned home and cared for her elderly parents until they died in 1912/ 13.

She married William C. Knoll in Sep. 1915 and they farmed in Sullivant Twp. and later bought land and farmed in Dix Twp. of Ford County.

Anna had no children but made pets of farm animals who responded to her affection. She learned to drive a Model A Ford so she could maintain contact with family and friends as well as manage her farm and considerable estate long after her husband Will died in 1939.

She was an active member of Royal Neighbors of Sibley and of the United Evangelical Methodist church of Sibley and later, the Methodist church of Cropsey, IL.
