Fourth of twelve children of August & Mary Stein Brucker, farmer John married Marie A. Helena WITT on Feb. 10, 1910 in Sibley. They had four children. Marie died shortly after the last and was buried with their stillborn son in 1917.

On May 23, 1925 in Anchor, IL John married Augusta Gertrude Stubbe Herman, a widow with a daughter who joined the Brucker family and Augusta became a beloved mother to all.
Augusta died 1984.
