Florence married Ernest R. Chandler on Dec 25, 1899, in Monroe, Sevier, Utah. Sometime between 1900 and 1910 Florence started having mental problems. One family account was that she tried to attack her mother with a knife and shortly after that was admitted to a mental institution in Blackfoot, Idaho. She spent about 20 yrs in the institution in Blackfoot, before being transfered to an institution in Nampa, Idaho, where she spent the remainder of her life.
