Florence M. Callaway
Florence M. Callaway, 83, of Caldwell, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Oct. 10, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
Mrs. Callaway was born Oct. 6. 1918. in Hartville, Mo., the youngest of nine children born to Elsie and William Crawford. She married Milton Callaway on Sept. 13, 1936, in Nampa. Together, they farmed, ran an orchard in the Lakeview area. Florence worked at the Canyon County assessor's office, the Caldwell hospital and the Cascade Care Center as a cook. Later, they operated the West Linden Cornucopia Fruit & Vegetable stand.
Florence loved gardening, flowers and playing the harmonica. She was a member of the Lakeview Grange, Friendly Neighbors Club, and the Owyhee County Historical Society.
Surviving are her children, Johnny and Cheryl Callaway of Caldwell, Teresa Callaway and her husband, Larry Prescott of Boise, and Mary Ann and her husband, Steve Richards of Homedale: 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Talon; a sister, Grace Pettit in Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons. Dicki Merrill and Lauren: and seven brothers and sisters.
