Mrs. George E. Dickey
The death of Mrs. Ellen L., the wife of George E. Dickey, occurred at her home after a long illness, Wednesday, May 28. Mrs. Dickey was born in Searsport, Feb. 18, 1861, the daughter of Jacob and Delia Page Smart. She was a teacher in the public schools in her girlhood days. She possessed an amiable disposition combined with a Christian character which won for her many friends whose testimony was that to know her was to love her.
Mrs. Dickey is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. T. D. Crabtree of Dover, and Mrs. G. L. Smith of this town, a sister, Miss Clara Smart, who has assisted in the care of her sister for the last two years, two brothers, Edwin Smart of Hermon, and Willard Smart of Olamon; a brother-in-law of this town, and six grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon, Rev. A. C. Bradford officiating. Two beautiful selections were rendered by Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Starbird of South Dover. The floral offerings were very pretty, among the offerings being a floral pillow, a wreath, daffodils and pinks from the relatives, and white pinks and other flowers from the Ladies' aid and friends. The remains were taken to Easton for interment, accompanied by Mr. Dickey and Mrs. Smith.
