Larry David Alt, 58, of Upper Tract. WV died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home. He was Born June 19, 1951 at Petersburg, WV and was the son of the late Curtis Alt and Goldie Kimble Alt. He had worked for Lantz Construction for the past 12 years. He also worked several years for Carl E. Smith. pipeline were he chased pipe behind the side-boom operators for years before moving up to running the side boom. He had been past fire chief for the Upper Tract Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a very good softball player where he played pitcher or catcher most of the time. He hit many a balls in the bleachers at Franklin High School. He also liked to hunt and fish and always has a joke to tell you. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Petersburg, WV. He is Survived by one daughter, Tonya(& her husband, Bobby) Simon of Brandywine,WV; two sons, Jared Alt(& Jessica Vance) of Upper Tract and Preston Alt of Upper Tract; three brother, Glenville Alt and Denton Alt of Upper Tract and Norman Alt of Harrisonburg,VA; one grandson, Justin Simon; two granddaughters, Katitlyn Todd and Madison Alt and his former wife Terri Kimble of Upper Tract, WV. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, WV with Bishop J. Stephen Kimble officiating. Burial will be at Kline Cemetery.pallbears were Jeff Lough, Nathan Keplinger, Jimmie Holloway, Rick Kile, Steve Kile and Craig Holloway. The Ladies Auxilary of Upper Tract Vol. Fire Dept. provided a meal for family and friends following the service. While growing up in Upper Tract, most summers were spent swimming in the river at the old mill, wine hole and the big rock entering Smoke Hole.
