Mary V. Green, 56, 820 W. Main St., Portland, died Sunday evening [August 25, 1968] at the Jay County Hospital following a two-month illness. She was employed before retirement at the Jay Garment Mfg. Corporation. She was born December 26, 1911, in Wells County, the daughter of Elisha & Frona (Alberson) Cashman. She married Mearl Green June 3, 1939. She was a member of the E. Main St. United Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to her husband are three sons, Gary Lee, a minister, Metcalf, IL; Duane M., Grand Forks, ND, in the Air Force; Gail Allen, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Philip Armantrout, RR 2, Bryant; Mrs. Earl Hawkins, Robinson, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Vore officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Coovert and Rev. Harley St. John. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
