Deceased Name: Florence (Floss) Dennett Davis
ST. GEORGE-- Florence Dennett Davis, 85, died June 25, 2000, in St. George, Utah.
She was born in Rockville, Utah, Aug. 28, 1914, to Adelia Gifford Dennett and Daniel Quimby Dennett. Florence married Arnold Thomas Davis on July 23, 1937. He pre-ceded her in death on August 4,
1975.
Florence loved gardening, dancing and traveling and was blessed with an innate sense of honesty, integrity and generosity. She loved to comfort little children and always put the needs of others before her own. Her sweet smile and wonderful sense of humor endeared her to many. She retired from the Salt Lake City School system and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Florence is survived by her sons, Keith (Marilyn) Davis, Brent (Nan) Davis, Les (Nicky) Davis, Craig Davis; and daughter, Carol Davis; ten grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice Emmett, LaRu Mattson, and Lucy Jacobsen. Florence is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Hardy, Graden, Wesley, and Leighton (Curly) Dennett; sister, Nerissa Ruesch; and daughter-in-law, Lesa; and grandson, Matthew. She married Jay Spencer in 1990 and was later divorced.
Many thanks to the St. George Care and Rehabilitation Center for help during her long illness and for two angels, Keith and Marilyn Davis, who were always there for her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 2000, 1 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., Murray, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Interment, Elysian Gardens.
