David William Brentz 63, died on the 23rd of February of Brain Cancer.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 20, 1947.He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1965 and went on to Wayne State University. He graduated from there in 1970 with a BS in Biology.

He was drafted in July of 1970 into the army. He was twice assigned to Viet Nam, but through fortuitous circumstances, never went.

After the service he went back to school at Grand Valley State University. There he earned a BS, with honors, in Biomedical Communications. There he also met and married Bonnie Bethke Livingston. They were in the same curriculum. After graduation they moved to East Tennessee State University in Johnson City Tennessee.

There they started a Biomedical Communications department at a new medical school, The Quillen College of Medicine. While at ETSU, David completed all the course work for a MFA in photography.

In 1985 they moved to Texas to take a job with the medical school at Southwestern. In 1989 David was hired by the American Heart Association National Center. His title was A/V Producer.

He was a great sportsman. He loved hockey, softball and basketball. He played some golf and tennis, as well. He and his wife were avid do-it-yourselfers. He loved his work, his family and his Rangers and Stars.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; sisters, Dion Lapham of Sedona, AZ, Deborah Brentz of Detroit, Michigan; nephews, Warren Lapham of Chicago, Illinois, Robert Bethke of Palm Beach Gardens Florida and Dan Bethke of Hawaii. We will miss him.
