Kenneth Craig Provine departed this earth for his home with God, on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011. Kenneth was born January 22, 1926, in Webb City, OK, to Charles Craig Provine and Mary Edith Isabell Provine. He was a graduate of Pawnee High School, and attended Oklahoma A&M University. He became a Marine in 1942. He served during WW II in places such as Guadalcanal, Saipan, and Tinian. He later served in the Army, and the Army National Guard, where he held the rank of Master Sergeant. His early marriage to Bama Sneed in Oklahoma, resulted in three daughters, Evelyn Burns of Tulsa, OK, Connie Gibbons of Richardson, TX, and Janice Rains Moran of Clear Lake, TX.
He married Emma "Jean" Trahan in Houston, TX., in 1970. He retired as a Superintendent for W.S. Bellows Construction Company in 1988. He was proud of his work on the Wortham Center in Houston, and the Rennisance Tower in Dallas. He was a member of the Texas Ave. Baptist Church in League City. In his retirement, he continued his construction work for The Volunteer Christian Builders Association. He became a Master Mason after fifty years of service in 2007, while a member of the Masonic Lodge in League City, TX. After the death of his beloved wife Jean, he moved from his home in Nassau Bay, TX, to Richardson, TX, where he made his new home with Connie and Gary Gibbons.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, step-son Skipper Trahan, his parents, and ten siblings. He is survived by Evelyn Burns, Connie Gibbons, Janice Rains Moran, Donald Trahan of Santa Fe, TX, Donna Peake of Houston, TX, brother Lt. Col. (retired) Carl Provine of Yelm, WA, sisters Lorene Knaak of Pawnee, OK, Ruby Maloney of Bartlesville, OK, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog, Stella.
A private celebration of his life will be held March 12, 2011, in Yale, OK, where he will be interred with Jean at the Lawson Family Cemetery.
