Samuel A. Alexander Answers Death's Call

Last Saturday, February 7, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Alexander, in this city, occurred the death of Samuel Allen Alexander, aged 27 years. Death followed a long struggle against tuberculosis, during which time Samuel struggled bravely and uncomplainingly.

The deceased was born in Talala, Oklahoma, August 5, 1898. Sixteen years ago he came with his parents to Lafayette and this place has been his home since that time, except for the most of the last three years which he has spent in Wyoming. January 18, 1921, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Jackson, of Hanna, Wyoming. At an early age Samuel learned the barber's trade and continued in this profession until ill health compelled him to give up work. He was a proficient barber and was always accommodating and courteous and made many friends which he retained until he died.

Beside his wife and parents he is survived by two brothers--Burton of Lafayette and Donald S. of Chicago. Funeral services were held at the Henning mortuary Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. W. Bird, and the remains were laid to rest in the Lafayette cemetery.
