NAMPA — Funeral services for James D. Agenbroad, 81, of Nampa Route 3, who died Sunday at his home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George A. Trobough, pastor of the Southside Boulevard Methodist Church, officiating, interment follows at Kohlerlawn Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions be given to the South Side Boulevard Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Idaho Youth Ranch at Rupert, or flowers may sent.

Mr. Agenbroad was born Oct. 15, 1886 at Huron, S.D. was reared there, and came to Nampa in 1906. He homesteaded in 1908 south of Nampa, where he had since resided. He was married on Feb. 14, 1916 to Laura Strait at Nampa, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966.

Mr. Agenbroad had been an orchardist for many years, and was instrumental in developing land in Owyhee and Malheur Counties. He was a member of the Southside Boulevard Methodist Church, and had served as state representative from Canyon County in 1941-1942. He was vice president, and a member of the board of the Production Credit Association, for the past 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Agenbroad of Nampa; three sons, Ernest Agenbroad of Grand View, Carl Agenbroad of Boise, and Leland Agenbroad of Eugene, Ore.; one daughter, Mrs. Bruce McConnell of Salem, Ore.; two brothers, Joe Agenbroad of Nampa and Dan Agenbroad of Melba; one sister, Mrs. Camille Haskin of Clarkston, Wash.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Agenbroad, and by two brothers and one sister.
