Obituary
New Iberia – Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM , Thursday, February 24, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for J.B. McDonald, Jr., 84, who passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in Abbeville.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Rev. Johnny Ward and Dr. Landrum P. Leavell, III will officiate.

Born on August 20, 1926 in Vermilion Parish, Mr. McDonald was a retired rice and cattle farmer. He had a deep love for the Texas Hill Country, deer hunting, and for Mason,Texas. He was a member of the Abbeville Masonic Lodge No 192, the Aurora Masonic Lodge No. 193, the Lake Charles Scottish Rite, Habbi Temple , the Coastal Shrine Club of Jefferson Island, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the LA Cattleman's Association.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Rita Duhon McDonald of New Iberia; sons, Mark McDonald and wife Shelia, Jude McDonald and wife Melissa all of New Iberia; daughters, Maxine McDonald Boudreaux and husband Tony, Marie McDonald Menard and husband Terry, Janet Mire and husband Elray all of New Iberia; brothers, Henry McDonald and wife Dot, Allen McDonald all of New Iberia; sister, Catherine McDonald Darcey and husband Donald of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Ruby McDonald of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Eugene Duhon and wife Ruby of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Menard, Jason Menard, Stacey Horton, Kristy Touchard, Mindy Cormier, Jacob Boudreaux, Seth Boudreaux, Callie Mire, Tyler Mire, Kacie McDonald, Shelby McDonald; 8 great grandchildren, Meg, Abbey, Cooper, Lauryn, Madison, Taylor, Parker, Ella Grace; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. McDonald, Sr. and Ora Bailleaux McDonald; sister, Gwinnie McDonald Broussard; brother, Kermit McDonald, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Jude McDonald, Mark McDonald, Ryan Menard, Jason Menard, Jacob Boudreaux, Tyler Mire, and Seth Boudreaux.

Honorary pallbearers include Tony Boudreaux, Terry Menard, and Elray Mire.

Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, Lousiana was in charge of arrangements.
